Stern receives a Clapp
Adam Stern first heard the name Stubby Clapp when Stern was playing for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 1999. Clapp knocked in the game-winning run for Team Canada in the bottom of the 11th for a 7-6 win over Team USA at Winnipeg in the Pan-Am Games.

Charles Edward Peter Wurtz, 86, of Corvallis died Tuesday in Junction City. He was born in Detroit, Mich., to Charles Edward and Martha Lydia (Waddell) Wurtz. His family moved to Port Angeles, Wash., when he was just over a year old.
